Silesia Velox Grills invented the concept of top and bottom heating over 35 years ago and named it "Contact Grill Cooking." This method has many benefits over conventional grills and griddles. Faster cooking times, tastier, juicier foods as a result of the searing effect created by top and bottom cooking plates which seal the food and lock in more of the natural juices thus improving flavour and reducing shrinkage.

The speed with which food items can be cooked means that a relatively small cooking area can produce larger quantities of cooked food than the traditional griddle.

Easy cleaning also means that a greater variety of foods can be cooked on the same equipment without cross flavouring.
